Lights Out Northern Virginia program

What is LOT?

Lights Out Northern Virginia is an initiative focused on minimizing bird collisions with buildings. Given that many birds migrate at night, excessive urban lights can disorient them, resulting in collisions with structures. The Lights Out program entails urging or requiring building owners to turn off or dim unnecessary lights, particularly during peak migration periods, with the aim of safeguarding migrating birds.

Responsive logo

We required a logo that would maintain clarity across various media and printed formats, which is why we designed a responsive one.

I chose an easy-to-read font that is freely available. As WRL relies on donations, we aimed to minimize costs.

A vibrant color palette would enhance brand recognition and assist us in creating printed materials for distribution in public spaces.
